Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM238 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TMEM238 data layer compared with 27 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher TMEM238 mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMEM238 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and LUAD show a favorable association.

HNSC, UCEC, and LUAD are the cancer types where TMEM238 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
