Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TM9SF4 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TM9SF4 data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher TM9SF4 mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TM9SF4 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC show a favorable association.
CCRCC, HNSC, and LUAD are the cancer types where TM9SF4 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
