Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TM9SF2 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TM9SF2 data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), where higher TM9SF2 mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TM9SF2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LUAD and PDAC show a favorable association.

LSCC, LUAD, and CCRCC are the cancer types where TM9SF2 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
