Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TLE5 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TLE5’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where TLE5 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TLE5 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and BLCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, LIHC, and BLCA are the cancer types where TLE5 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
