Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TIGAR RNA is linked to patient survival in 20 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TIGAR data layer compared with 3 for mutation status and 3 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in mesothelioma (MESO), where higher TIGAR RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TIGAR expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as STAD and BRCA show a favorable association.
MESO, ACC, and LGG are the cancer types where TIGAR RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
