Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TEX12 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TEX12’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where TEX12 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TEX12 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, LUSC, and BRCA are the cancer types where TEX12 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
