Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TAS2R8 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TAS2R8 data layer compared with 16 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher TAS2R8 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TAS2R8 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
KIRC, READ, and SCLC are the cancer types where TAS2R8 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
