Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TAF1B mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TAF1B data layer compared with 27 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher TAF1B mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TAF1B expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
HNSC are the cancer types where TAF1B mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
