Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, STARD8 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated STARD8 data layer compared with 20 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in rectum adenocarcinoma (READ), where higher STARD8 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated STARD8 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC and SCLC show a favorable association.
READ, UCEC, and SARC are the cancer types where STARD8 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
