Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, STARD13-AS RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of STARD13-AS’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where STARD13-AS RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types STARD13-AS is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, KIRP, and LUSC are the cancer types where STARD13-AS tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
