Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ST8SIA1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 23 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated ST8SIA1 data layer compared with 3 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in uveal melanoma (UVM), where higher ST8SIA1 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated ST8SIA1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and ESCA show a favorable association.

UVM, HNSC, and KIRP are the cancer types where ST8SIA1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
