Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SSB RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SSB data layer compared with 5 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher SSB RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SSB expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRC and THCA show a favorable association.

KIRP, ACC, and LIHC are the cancer types where SSB RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
