Across TCGA patient cohorts, SPEN protein abundance is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 14,844 significant associations in total. GBM shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible SPEN-associated genes across cancer lineages are NOL9, PPP1R8, and UBE4B. Each is linked with SPEN in more than 6 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both SPEN-to-partner and partner-to-SPEN results are reported.
