Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SPECC1L mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SPECC1L data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 10 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher SPECC1L mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SPECC1L expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
HNSC, PDAC, and GBM are the cancer types where SPECC1L mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
