Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SPATA2L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SPATA2L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where SPATA2L RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SPATA2L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KICH, COAD, and HNSC are the cancer types where SPATA2L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
