Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SPAG8 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SPAG8’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where SPAG8 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SPAG8 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, LUSC, and BLCA are the cancer types where SPAG8 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
