Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SOX5 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SOX5 data layer compared with 27 for mass-spec protein and 8 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), where higher SOX5 mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SOX5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
LSCC and UCEC are the cancer types where SOX5 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
