Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SOX14 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 8 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SOX14’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where SOX14 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SOX14 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and HNSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, THCA, and STAD are the cancer types where SOX14 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
