Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SOD2 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SOD2 data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), where higher SOD2 mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SOD2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and LUAD show a favorable association.

GBM, HNSC, and LUAD are the cancer types where SOD2 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
