Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SNORD53B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SNORD53B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where SNORD53B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SNORD53B is over-expressed in tumor.

STAD, BLCA, and LUSC are the cancer types where SNORD53B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
