Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SNORD116-8 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SNORD116-8 data layer compared with 18 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher SNORD116-8 Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SNORD116-8 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.

SKCM are the cancer types where SNORD116-8 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
