Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SNORD116-4 RNA is linked to patient survival in 23 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SNORD116-4 data layer compared with 2 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in mesothelioma (MESO), where higher SNORD116-4 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SNORD116-4 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRC and HNSC show a favorable association.

MESO, LIHC, and KIRC are the cancer types where SNORD116-4 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
