Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SNORA5A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SNORA5A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where SNORA5A RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SNORA5A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, KIRC, and HNSC are the cancer types where SNORA5A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
