Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SNORA53 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SNORA53’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where SNORA53 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SNORA53 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
STAD, THCA, and LIHC are the cancer types where SNORA53 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
