Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SMIM11A RNA is linked to patient survival in 18 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SMIM11A data layer.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher SMIM11A RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SMIM11A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM and BLCA show a favorable association.
SKCM, BLCA, and SCLC are the cancer types where SMIM11A RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
