Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SMIM10L2A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SMIM10L2A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where SMIM10L2A RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SMIM10L2A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as STAD and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, STAD, and BRCA are the cancer types where SMIM10L2A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
