Across TCGA patient cohorts, SMAD5 mutation is significantly associated with the total protein of many other genes, with 40 significant associations in total. UCEC shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible SMAD5-associated genes across cancer lineages are ATM, 14-3-3_beta, and EGFR_pY1068. Each is linked with SMAD5 in more than 1 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both SMAD5-to-partner and partner-to-SMAD5 results are reported.
