Across TCGA patient cohorts, SMAD4 mutation is significantly associated with the total protein of many other genes, with 60 significant associations in total. UCEC shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible SMAD4-associated genes across cancer lineages are IGFBP2, Caspase-7-cleavedD198, and alpha-Catenin. Each is linked with SMAD4 in more than 2 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both SMAD4-to-partner and partner-to-SMAD4 results are reported.
