Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC5A6 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 6 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SLC5A6 data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 7 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher SLC5A6 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SLC5A6 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
KIRP, GBM, and SARC are the cancer types where SLC5A6 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
