Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC38A5 RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SLC38A5 data layer compared with 4 for mutation status and 4 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher SLC38A5 RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SLC38A5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LUAD and UCEC show a favorable association.

KIRC, STAD, and KIRP are the cancer types where SLC38A5 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
