Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC25A39 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SLC25A39’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where SLC25A39 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SLC25A39 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, COAD, and HNSC are the cancer types where SLC25A39 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
