Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC25A2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SLC25A2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where SLC25A2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SLC25A2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as UCEC and LIHC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, KIRC, and ESCA are the cancer types where SLC25A2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
