Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SETP16 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SETP16’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where SETP16 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SETP16 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, STAD, and BRCA are the cancer types where SETP16 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
