Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SEMA5A mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SEMA5A data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), where higher SEMA5A mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SEMA5A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and LSCC show a favorable association.
PDAC, LUAD, and CCRCC are the cancer types where SEMA5A mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
