Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SELENOI mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SELENOI data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where higher SELENOI mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SELENOI expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and UCEC show a favorable association.
LUAD, HNSC, and UCEC are the cancer types where SELENOI mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
