Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SEC31A mass-spec protein differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SEC31A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where SEC31A mass-spec protein is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SEC31A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as CCRCC and PDAC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, HNSC, and LSCC are the cancer types where SEC31A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
