Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SEC23B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SEC23B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where SEC23B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SEC23B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, COAD, and STAD are the cancer types where SEC23B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
