Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SDS mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SDS data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher SDS mass-spec protein is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SDS expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and GBM show a favorable association.

CCRCC, GBM, and PDAC are the cancer types where SDS mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
