Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SCNN1B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SCNN1B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where SCNN1B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SCNN1B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and HNSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, HNSC, and KIRP are the cancer types where SCNN1B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
