Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SCNN1A RNA is linked to patient survival in 28 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SCNN1A data layer compared with 8 for mutation status and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher SCNN1A RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SCNN1A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and MESO show a favorable association.
HNSC, PAAD, and MESO are the cancer types where SCNN1A RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
