Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SCGB1C2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SCGB1C2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where SCGB1C2 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SCGB1C2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, KICH, and KIRP are the cancer types where SCGB1C2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
