Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, S100A7A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of S100A7A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), where S100A7A RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types S100A7A is over-expressed in tumor.
BRCA, LUSC, and HNSC are the cancer types where S100A7A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
