Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RTL8C Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated RTL8C data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in sarcoma (SARC), where higher RTL8C Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated RTL8C expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
SARC and UCEC are the cancer types where RTL8C Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
