Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPS23P8 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPS23P8’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where RPS23P8 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPS23P8 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, COAD, and LIHC are the cancer types where RPS23P8 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
