Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPS12P3 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPS12P3’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where RPS12P3 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPS12P3 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

HNSC, KICH, and BLCA are the cancer types where RPS12P3 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
