Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL31P20 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL31P20’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where RPL31P20 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL31P20 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, BRCA, and KIRC are the cancer types where RPL31P20 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
