Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL23AP81 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL23AP81’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where RPL23AP81 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL23AP81 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, LIHC, and UCEC are the cancer types where RPL23AP81 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
