Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL21P71 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL21P71’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where RPL21P71 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL21P71 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

UCEC, COAD, and THCA are the cancer types where RPL21P71 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
