Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL13AP17 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL13AP17’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where RPL13AP17 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL13AP17 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, LUSC, and KIRC are the cancer types where RPL13AP17 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
