Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPGRIP1L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPGRIP1L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where RPGRIP1L RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPGRIP1L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, KIRP, and KIRC are the cancer types where RPGRIP1L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
